Pauline Thompson My Photo Diary

Hortobagy National Park is the largest continual natural grassland in Europe. It was designated as a national park in 1973.

Hortobagy is a steppe, a grassy plain which is home to Hungarian Grey cattle, Racka sheep, Water Buffalo, and horses. It provides habitat for various species including 342 species of birds. The Red-footed Falcon, Stone Curlew, Great Bustard, White-Tailed Eagle and Aquatic Warbler can all be seen here.
